Removing Water Spots From Car Windows

I ran into an issue getting the water spots off my car's windows and especially the top dark glass roof which when washing dries and spots almost instantly. I tried both the original and the newer Windex formulations and neither budged any of the spots. I was getting the water spots off the car's body easily with Meguiar's Ultimate Quick Wax so I thought I'd try it on the windows.
