Debating whether I should pick Uniden DFR7 (new) or R3 (used)

Hey people,

I made a post earlier this week inquiring about the performance of a DFR7.
Just a little bit ago, I saw some used R3s for ~$200. I also saw in my past research that there were DFR7s going for $160-180.

Which one should I pick? I know the R3 is better I only drive in highways and on vacations. I live in California(Bay Area), and the roads I take are hilly and windy, not straight. Only when I take Highway 5 the road is straight down.
