K band spotted in Norman, OK

A few nights ago, I saw a City of Norman crown vic blasting 24.187 with a customer pulled over. Until now, I have only seen 35.5 from Norman PD and 34.7 from OU's police explorers. The very next day, I saw a Norman police 5th gen Tahoe on the road and he appeared to be running K band as well (24.126). Can anybody else confirm whether K band is in use more often in Norman, or was that car just equipped with older tech?
