Police Scanner Useful with Alabama State Troopers?

I typically run the interstates after midnight. From my understanding there are typically only two State Troopers patrolling i65 from Birmingham to the Tennessee state line during the overnight hours. Due to a Trooper shortage, off duty troopers are on call 2-4 nights a week but will only respond to accidents. A police scanner might be useful in determining their general location as they typically call out the mile marker during traffic stops.
