I'm from New Zealand and i'm looking to purchase my first radar detector - the Uniden R3.

I've done a bit of reading on the forum already, but would like a bit more info for the NZ environment

1. If I import an R3 purchased on ebay, are there firmware updates available by @Mithheru to adapt to the NZ market, i.e NZ GPS, improved radar detection on specific bands some police vans use? How do I go about acquiring these? Does the R3 automatically update itself with any changes...
