Uniden R8 companion app

I just purchased my first GPS radar detector, the R8 and have the companion app. I’m new to filtering BSM’s and things like that. In general if I come across a BSM is it recommended to lock it out or could that cause issues down the road?

So far I’ve only spotlocked automatic doors at store fronts.
